CTE was founded in 1993 on the belief that reducing transportation-related carbon emissions is crucial to protecting our environment and public health. In our early years, CTE supported some of the first-ever hybrid-electric, battery-electric, and hydrogen-electric vehicle deployments in the country.
What started as a small group of mission-driven enthusiasts has grown into the leading national organization for the development and deployment of zero-emission buses and trucks. CTE has helped more than 80 fleets get electric vehicles on the road for the first time. Our staff has grown to 60 dedicated professionals, nearly half of which are engineers. We have developed industry-leading resources and methodologies that yield results.
President Biden's Infrastructure Plan reflects the recent swell of national enthusiasm to combat climate change by rapidly electrifying vehicles across the country including school buses, transit buses, and the entire federal fleet. Achieving these ambitious yet necessary goals will require a paradigm shift in thinking about transportation technologies. It will also require listening to the broad spectrum of groups who rely on the transportation system, especially those who have historically not had their say. CTE is poised to bridge the gap between the ambitious climate goals of this plan and the operational demands of fleets. We provide practical planning and technical support for fleet operators who must navigate this transition.
This Earth Day, we celebrate the professionals and advocates around the globe who are committed to advancing clean transportation and improving the health of our climate and communities. Our devoted staff work hard every day to build a zero-emission transportation future, and it wouldn't be possible without your support.Together, we are driving towards a cleaner planet.
